Student Account
All registered students automatically get a computer login and an email account.
Email activation:
Access the e-mail via the internet by going to http://www.manor.edu and click the email link.
-Your user name is your first initial and your last name
-Your initial password is your date of birth (in this format: 00/00/00)
Example: your name is Mary Brown and your date of birth is August 16th 1990
Login name: mbrown
Password: 08/16/90
After you login YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD and follow the instructions to activate your email account.
How to activate your computer Login:
At the login screen on a student computer (in classroom, library, learning center) on campus:
1. In User Name: Enter your first initial followed by your last name:
(EXAMPLE: If your name is John Brown, it would be entered as jbrown)
2. On the next line marked Password enter the word: user (lower case)
3. The third line (log in to;) should say “MJC”
4. Click on the OK button.
YOU WILL BE TOLD THAT YOUR PASSWORD HAS EXPIRED. THIS IS NORMAL! CLICK OK.
The Change Password box that appears will allow you to enter your own password.
Leave the old password box with the **** in it the same.
5. In the new password box enter a password that you will remember!
6. Confirm the password by typing it again on the next line.
7. Click OK and you are finished.
Password Resets:
Computer log on password will be reset to: user
Email password will be reset to: 01/01/01

Saving Files:
After you login with your name on the computers on campus you will find a connection to your folder on our server. (open "my computer" and verify that you see "G" your first initial and last name.) This folder can only be accessed by you while you are on campus. This is a safe place to keep your files. You can connect to this folder from any computer on campus as long as you login as yourself.
Other options are:
- A USB flash drive (becoming very inexpensive) Recommended by the Manor IT department!
- Email yourself a copy of your work.
It's important to know that anything changed or saved to the hard drive of any computer on campus will not be there after the computer is restarted.
