As we work hard to plan the best celebration for you and your loved ones, we need to know how many students plan to attend. You must confirm you will be attending by completing your graduation petition with your academic advisor at your earliest convenience (details below).

If you plan to attend, students will also need to come to the Cap and Gown Pick Up event on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM. At this event, students will be able to pick up their cap and gown packages, ticket to the ceremony, ceremony information, a gift from the alumni association, and some other surprises!

Commencement exercises are traditionally held annually at the end of the spring semester, This year’s Commencement ceremony will be held on May 16, 2023. Students who complete their degree requirements in summer 2023, fall 2023, and spring 2024 receive their diplomas following the completion of the degree requirements.

Deadline to order cap and gown 

The last day to order your Graduation Regalia online is March 15, 2024. You can order online HERE. Orders placed after this date may incur additional fees. Anyone who needs to order a cap and gown package after the deadline must contact Olivia Trotman, Assistant Director of Student Engagement at otrotman@manor.edu. Additional fees will be added for late orders.

Graduation Rehearsal and Cap and Gown Pick Up

Cap and Gown Pick Up will take place in the Manor College Gymnasium on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 12 – 1:00 PM. This is when you will receive your cap & gown, tickets, and other information regarding your graduation. It is important for all graduation candidates to attend this event. Please contact Dean of Students, Allison Mootz (amootz@manor.edu), if you experience a last-minute illness/hardship and cannot attend.

Graduation Tickets

Each student will receive five (5) tickets to the outdoor ceremony. For the safety of all those attending, we will not be able to exceed our ticket limit. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors in our Gymnasium and students will be permitted to have two guests. 

In the event that we have extra tickets available, graduates may request an extra ticket by emailing Olivia Trotman (otrotman@manor.edu) AFTER April 1. Requests received before April 1 will not be honored.

Commencement/Graduation

This event celebrates the achievements of August 2023, December 2023 and May 2024 graduation candidates. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM.

The ceremony will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Seating is first come, first serve and we do have a limited number of seats. We will have a professional photographer taking photos and they will be made available to all graduates after the ceremony.

Participation Requirements

Petition to Graduate

Students who intend to graduate and meet the residency requirement must see their academic advisor during registration the semester prior to their anticipated degree completion. Advisors and Students will work together to complete and submit a Graduation Petition. Once the Graduation Petition is completed and signed by the advisor or program director, submit to the Registrar for final approval. The Graduation Petition MUST be completed in order to be eligible for a degree evaluation. Only once all materials are received will an academic audit be done.

Approval to graduate is granted by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

To participate in commencement, you must:

  • Complete degree requirements. Contact your advisor or program director to verify the completion of degree requirements.
  • Submit Graduation Petition (see above)
  • Attend the commencement rehearsal on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
  • Satisfy all financial and library obligations. Degree candidates who have balances due at the Bursar’s Office or books due at the library must satisfy these obligations before they can receive diplomas. All financial obligations must be fulfilled prior to December 1 for December completers, April 1 for May completers, and June 1 for summer completers.
  • Complete the loan exit interview. All students who borrowed a Federal Perkins or Federal Direct Student Loan while enrolled at Manor College must attend an exit counseling session to review their rights and responsibilities. Sessions will be offered in April at varying times and will last approximately 30 minutes. A specific schedule of dates and times will be sent to graduation candidates by email.

Graduation Pictures

Graduation pictures will be taken on Wednesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 22, 2024. There will be a $5 sitting fee to take your pictures (credit, cash, or check accepted). The photographer will send you a link to view all pictures and you can pick and pay for your package at a later date. Please check your Manor email for directions on how to sign up for an appointment slot to take graduation pictures. Email Olivia Trotman (otrotman@manor.edu), Assistant Director of Student Engagement, with any questions. We will provide a cap and gown for photos.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the decision regarding the location will be made the day of the ceremony and will be announced on the Manor College website by 7 am the day of the ceremony.

Hot Weather
It is possible that the weather will be unseasonably warm. Students and guests are advised to dress appropriately if this is the case.
