Application Process
Application Procedures for Scholarships (Freshmen)
An applicant must:
- Apply for admission to Manor College by March 1 and be accepted by April 1.
- Obtain a scholarship application from Manor College’s Financial Aid Office
- Submit a completed application for the appropriate Competitive scholarship by April 25
- Follow application procedures for Financial Aid (a student must apply for financial aid to receive a scholarship)
Partial Scholarships (Competitive)
Partial Scholarships cover a portion of the tuition charges for one academic year (two semesters).New freshmen/transfer students may apply if they have completed zero to a maximum of 11 credits. Applicants must have minimum of ‘B’ high school GPA and a minimum score of 900 on the SAT. An applicant is required to submit: a scholarship application, a500-word essay on a pre-selected topic and two written recommendations. Finalists will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship applications must be received by April 1.
1.All applicants who met the participation criteria for Competitive Partial Scholarships will receive a minimum of a Basilian I($2000/yr.) scholarship.
2. Maximum of 5 semesters full time, if the program requires an additional semester.
3.Competitive Partial Scholarships are renewable for the second year upon completion of 30 credits at Manor College with a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 at the end of the student’s freshman year.
Henry Lewandowski Memorial Scholarship
Sister Dolores Orzel, OSBM, and her family established this partial -tuition scholarship in 1986 in memory of her uncle, Henry Lewandowski, a former educator. This scholarship is renewable as a Lewandowski/Basilian scholarship.
The Heritage Foundation Scholarship of 1st Securities Federal Saving Bank
The Heritage Foundation of 1st Securities Bank established a partial scholarship fund in 2002 to be awarded to Ukrainian students enrolled at Manor College. The applicant must meet all requirements for Partial Scholarships (competitive) .This scholarship is renewable as a Heritage Foundation/Basilian Scholarship with completion of 30 credits at Manor College an a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the student’s freshman year.
Elizabeth A. Stahlecker Scholarship
The Elizabeth A. Stahlecker Endowment Fund established a partial-tuition scholarship in 1993. This scholarship is renewable as a Stahlecker /Basilian Scholarship.
Mary Wolchanski Scholarship
The Mary Wolchanski Endowment Fund established a partial-tuition scholarship in 1992. This scholarship is renewable as a Wolchanski/Basilian Scholarship.
John Woloschuk Memorial Scholarship
The John Woloschuk Endowment Fund established a partial tuition scholarship in 1995 to be awarded to one deserving Allied Health student each year. This scholarship is renewable as a Woloschuk/Basilian Scholarship.
Lorraine Osinski Keating Memorial Scholarship
The Osinski and Keating families established this scholarship in 2003 in memory of Lorrie Osinski Keating, Manor class of 1966. Scholarship will be awarded to qualified students as recommended by the Scholarship Committee. The applicant must meet all requirements for Partial Scholarship (competitive) . This scholarship is renewable as a Keating/Basilian Scholarship with completion of 30 credits at Manor College and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the student’s freshman year.
Father Chlystun Scholarship
The Father Chlystun Endowment Fund established a partial tuition scholarship in 1983. Eligible recipients include Sister of Saint Basil the Great, postulants and novices of the Sister of Saint Basil the Great, and, seminarians of the Ukrainian Catholic Church attending Manor College. Applicants must meet all requirements for Partial Scholarships (competitive).
Full-Time Divisional Scholarship
The Manor Divisional Scholarship was established to award a partial scholarship in each of the three major divisions of the College: Allied Health, Science& Math Division; Business Division and Liberal Arts Division.
Part-Time Divisional Scholarship
This institutionally-funded, competitive, one-year, partial scholarship will be awarded to a new student in each of the college’s academic divisions: Allied Health, Business and Liberal Arts. Candidates must have no more than 30 prior college credits, attain a total score of “Post High School” on Manor’s Entrance Exam, and complete a scholarship application and an essay on a given topic. Eligibility includes enrolling for a minimum of 6 credits/semester during the first year. This scholarship is not renewable, but upon completion of 30 credits at Manor College with a GPA of a 3.0, the student will be eligible for a Basilian Scholarship (see below).
Other Partial Scholarships
Basilian I (Freshmen)
This institutionally-funded partial-tuition scholarship of $2,000/yr. is awarded to a incoming freshmen who have a minimum ‘B’ high school GPA with a minimum score of 900 on the SAT and applied to Manor College by March 1 and were accepted by April 1.There is no scholarship application required. The Basilian I scholarship is renewable for the second year and up to a maximum total of 5 semesters (full-time)if the program requires an additional semester, if the student completes 30 credits at Manor College with a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 at the end of the student’s freshman year.
Basilian II (Freshmen)
This institutionally-funded partial-tuition scholarship of $1,000/yr. is awarded to a incoming freshmen who applied and were accepted after April 1. The Basilian II scholarship is renewable.
Basilian III (Sophomores/Returning Students)
For students who were not eligible for scholarships during their freshman year, Manor offers an additional opportunity. After completion of 30 credits and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, the Basilian Scholarship is available for returning students. A full-time student would receive:

- 3.00-3.49 $1,200.00
- 3.50 and higher $1,500.00
Part -time students may qualify for a Basilian Scholarship after completion of 30 credits and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The part -time student will receive a prorated amount based on the number of credits enrolled for during the award semester.
Basilian Sisters Scholarship
Each year two Basilian Sisters Scholarships are awarded. They were established to aid students from foreign countries. Each year, one is awarded to a student from Ukraine and one is awarded to a student from another foreign country. Students must exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate financial need and be service oriented. The students that receive these scholarships are not eligible to receive federal financial aid due to their immigration status.
Dr. and Mrs. Volodymyr and Lydia Bazarko Scholarship
To qualify for this partial scholarship, the applicant must have an minimum of ‘B’ high shool GPA and a minimum score of 900 on the SATs. Preference will be given to a student of Ukrainian decent. This scholarship is renewable if a student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completes 30 credits at Manor during his/her freshman year.
Eileen Freedman Memorial Scholarship
Marlynn Alkins, Senior Associate Professor at Manor College established the Eileen Freedman scholarship in memory of her sister ,Eileen Freedman. This scholarship is awarded to a student studying Allied Health that has completed his/her freshman year at Manor College with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Professors in the Allied Health Division nominate the candidates.
George & Jaroslava Rybak Scholarship
Established in 2002, this competitive, partial scholarship will be awarded to a student or students studying in a Business-related program, who is/are of Ukrainian heritage. Requirements for a freshman consist of a high school GPA of 3.0, an SAT score of 900, graduation in the top half of the class and a recommendation from the Admissions department. Recipient(s) must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credits per semester. This scholarship is renewable for a second year provided that the recipient(s) complete their first year at Manor with a 3.0 GPA and 30 credits (full-time).Part-time recipient (s) must complete 18 credits with a 3.0 GPA.
Scholar Athlete Award
One partial tuition scholarship will be awarded to an incoming full-time athlete with a minimum score of 900 on the SAT and a minimum of ‘B’ high school GPA. An applicant is required to submit the following: a scholarship application, an essay on a pre-selected topic and two written recommendations. The deadline for filing is August 1. This scholarship is renewable with the completion of 30 credits at Manor and a cumulative 3.0 GPA at the end of the student’s freshman year.
Saint Basil Scholarship
This partial scholarship is awarded to graduates of St. Basil Academy who have shown strong academic performance with a recommendation from their high school guidance counselor.
Sesok Family Memorial Scholarship
The Sesok and Pizzini families established this scholarship in memory of Ann Sesok in 2003. Scholarship will be awarded to an academically qualified Manor College student, full time or part time,
who major in Medical Technology/Science. “Academically qualified” is a 900 SAT, B or 3.0 Grate Point Average, top one-half of graduating class. Student must carry a minimum of 9 credits at Manor College. The scholarship is renewable for the following year.
Wasyl and Jozefa Soroka Scholarship
The Soroka Endowment Fund established several partial tuition scholarships in 1988 to be awarded to students of Ukrainian heritage. The applicant must have a minimum of ‘B’ high school GPA. Applicants are required to submit a scholarship application and a 500-word essay on a pre-selected topic. Recipients will be chosen by the Soroka Scholarship Committee. To renew the scholarship for the following year, the recipient must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete 30 credits at Manor College during his/her freshman year.
International Student Scholarship
International student scholarships are awarded to foreign students with a minimum of ‘B’ high school GPA, a minimum score of 900 on the SAT or a score of 520 (190 on the computer version) on the TOEFL Test. To renew the International Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Manor College Service Award
Several partial tuition scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding ability in the arts, theater or other endeavors which may be of service to the College community. Recipients are expected to complete service hours each semester as well as meeting the requirements of satisfactory academic progress to renew the scholarship award.
Resident Assistant Award
Several full Room/Board dormitory scholarships are awarded to students serving as assistants to the Resident Coordinator. Contact Manor’s Student life office for this scholarship application.
Private Scholarships
There are many special assistance programs that offer scholarships, grants and loans to students. You may qualify for one of these programs through religious affiliation, ethnic heritage, parents’ employers, organizational memberships or a special talent. Knowledge of these programs is available through books and pamphlets on scholarships and financial aid in your school, local library or the web.
