DA104 Radiographic Techniques Course Description      1 Credit

 

            In order for dental auxiliaries to produce diagnostically useful radiographs with minimal patient radiation exposure, it is essential that they possess a through understanding of extraoral and intraoral techniques.  This course will provide students with two recommended techniques used in taking intraoral films, as well as those extraoral techniques as they pertain to dental procedures. Students must demonstrate proficiency in all techniques by passing required competencies to complete this course.  Students will be required to schedule at least 4 patients to perform FMX surveys for the completion of the course.

Prerequisite:  A satisfactory grade of “C” or better on DA101 Chairside Procedures, DA103 Principles of Radiology, DA105 Practice Management, and DA107 Dental Materials. ( Assigned  laboratory /clinical responsibilities)
