Clinical Experiences Descriptions

 

This clinical experience is designed to orient the student to working chairside within Manor’s Dental Health Center located at the college.  Students are directly involved in patient care working as chairside assistants with the dentists and sophomore EFDA’s.  This course incorporates all aspects of dental assisting learned first semester and allows application and perfecting learned skills through hands on experience. (12 hours clinic/15 weeks-180 hours)

Prerequisite:  Satisfactory grade of “C” or better in all fall semester courses.

 

This experience is a continuation of Clinical Experience I. Students will provide the dentist with chairside assistance, as well as begin preliminary patient care services.  This course is offered in summer session only (12 hours clinic /15 weeks=180 hours)

Prerequisite: Satisfactory grade of “C” or better in all first semester courses.

 

This course will give the student the opportunity to gain experience in performing expanded functions chairside with direct supervision by the dentist and faculty instructors.  The entire experience will take place at Manor’s Dental Health Center with students being provided with restorative procedures in the  role of dircet patient care, 3nabling them to become active participating member of the dental health team within our facility. (12 hours clinic/15 weeks=180 hours)

Prerequisite:  Satisfactory grade of “C” or better in DA200

 

A continuation of clinical Experience III. (9 Hours clinic/15 weeks=135 hours)

Prerequisite:  Satisfactory grade of “C” or better in DA203
