Director of Student Activities

The Director of Student Activities reports directly to the Dean of Students and must be extremely well-organized and able to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  The individual must be highly energetic and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse student population.

Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Word, and Publisher are preferred.  A Bachelors Degree and/or at least two years experience working in student affairs or event planning is also preferred. Creativity and artistic skills are also beneficial in this position.

Professional Development Counselor

Provide organizational and departmental support for the Department of Continuing Education. An Administrative support to the Director of Continuing Education.

Brief Description Summary:

  1. The Professional Development Counselor will process and maintain Professional Development Registrations and Records.
  2. Prepare a wide variety of written materials (e.g. reports, receipts, memos, letters, refunds, name tags, sig-in-sheets, class lists, etc) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  3. Processes documents and materials (e.g. refunds, receipts, purchase orders, credit card charges, registration forms, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
  4. Work with students on a daily basis to ensure an easy and professional registration process and other duties as assigned.
  5. Assist the department to exceed annual student, course, and budgeted goals.

                               
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and/or at least two years experience working in student services and/or student registration and records management. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel are preferred. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills. Professional attitude, demeanor and dress are also highly desired.

Full time position as an Instructor of English in our Liberal Arts Division.

Located in the Philadelphia area, Manor is known for its academic excellence and strong emphasis on teaching.

The anticipated employment date is Fall, 2012.

Job Duties: Responsibilities include teaching introductory and specialty courses; supervising adjunct instructors; advising students; service to the college and community; active participation in departmental activities and professional development. Summer teaching opportunities are usually available.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in English or related discipline by start date is preferred with qualifications to teach introductory courses and specialty courses in area of expertise, and a record of scholarship are required. Area of expertise is open, but special consideration will be given to candidates with a background and passion for teaching writing courses. Teaching experience at the college level is highly recommended. Candidates with a Master’s degree and outstanding teaching experience may be considered.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

Orthodontic Assistant

Expanded Functions Dental Assisting program is seeking an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to work in direct patient care with the Orthodontist in an educational setting.
P.T. Position: Hours are Tuesday 9-5

Requirements:


We are seeking someone with a minimum of 3 years full time experience as an Orthodontic Assistant that is very knowledgeable in orthodontic procedures. The position requires you to work with students under the direct supervision of the Orthodontist.
Proof of Pennsylvania X-ray Certification
Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
Applicant must be Certified (CDA or COA) or willing to become certified. This is a very nice and rewarding position for someone who enjoys an educational setting.

P.T. Dentist: Dentist/Instructor

We are seeking a general dentist with a minimum of three years private practice experience as a clinical practitioner/instructor to work in a direct patient setting with students enrolled in the EFDA Program at Manor College, located at 700 Fox Chase Road, in Jenkintown, Pa. Prefer, experience working with EFDAs.
Manor College Dental Health Center is a newly renovated, “State of the Art”, dental care facility where education takes place through direct patient care.  We are looking for someone to bring their knowledge and experience to our students.

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) P.T.

We are seeking a Clinical Supervisor/Instructor to work with the EFDA students
in our new state of the art clinical facility. Applicant must have good knowledge of Dental Assisting and Expanded Function skills. This is a very rewarding position for someone who enjoys working one on one with students in an educational setting.

Requirements:


A minimum of 3 years full time experience in a, “general dentistry”.
Applicant must demonstrate good knowledge and skills in both dental assisting and expanded duties.
Proof of Pennsylvania EFDA Certification.
Proof of Pennsylvania X-ray Certification
Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification

System Selection and Implementation
This course will provide a framework for understanding the features of leading EHR systems, components associated with selecting an EHR system and how the systems integrate.  Emphasis will be given to key selection and contracting considerations, the business case and purchase negotiations.  Further focus on the installation and maintenance of systems will be provided, along with review of implementation issues tied to information technology.  This course also offers access to tools that are proven to work in the “field”.

Fundamentals of  Management
This course focuses on project management, process analysis and change, and covers the fundamentals of leadership, project management and change management within the clinical operations setting. This course will also provide an understanding of project management tools and techniques resulting in the ability to create and follow a project management plan, in addition to addressing styles that work for effective Health IT deployment.

Human Factors
This course will introduce students to the field of human factors analysis and the role it plays in enhancing effectiveness and efficiency in the workplace amongst teams.  Additionally, human factor analysis will be applied to improving health, safety and customer and staff satisfaction. Specific attention will be given to human-computer interaction as it pertains to workflow and process redesign, user profiling, data gathering, and transitions.
This course will also include development of skills necessary to communicate effectively across the full range of roles that will be encountered in health care and public health settings.
