FACULTY/EDUCATION COORDINATOR for LEGAL STUDIES PROGRAM

The Legal Studies Program at Manor College, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, is seeking an education coordinator to perform both teaching and administrative duties 30 hours per week, 10 months per year. Hours are flexible.

Responsibilities include teaching two (2) classes per semester (Fall and Spring), serving as an academic advisor to paralegal and legal nurse consulting students, overseeing externships and graduate placement, assisting the program director in curriculum evaluation and development, and acting as adjunct faculty liaison.

Candidates must be either a Bachelor degreed paralegal or an attorney with experience working with paralegals. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

VT212 Animal Radiology
This course is an overview of the basic principles of radiology. Topics include: theory of x-ray production; parts and use of radiographic equipment; radiation control and safety; restraint and positioning of animals; radiographic quality; film development; dental radiography. The fundamentals of special imaging including ultrasonography, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy and endoscopy are also included. (one hour lecture, two laboratory hours)

VT109 Breeds, Behavior and Nutrition
This seminar offers an overview of common companion and farm animal breeds. A discussion of breed- and species-related behavior follows with emphasis on aggression and elimination disorders in companion animals. In addition, an introduction to nutrition is offered including a discussion of basic grains, grasses and hays. The nutritional management of neonate, adult, pregnant, lactating, and geriatric animals is discussed as well as an introduction to prescription diets. (2 seminar hours)

BI206 Microbiology for Veterinary Technicians

This is an introductory course in applied microbiology with emphasis on organisms affecting animal species. General microbiological concepts and principles are covered in lecture and laboratory. Topics include: taxonomy, biology of micro-organisms, pathogenic organisms, mycology, virology, bacteriology, immunity, zoonosis, public health, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, sterilization, disinfection, safety and the microbiology of milk. (3 hours of lecture, 3 hours of lab)

The Learning Center is looking for Tutors

The Learning Center – An academic support/learning assistance resource center – at Manor College is looking for professional and peer tutors in mathematics, (primarily basic math and algebra) and in sciences (Biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics…)

Compensation for tutoring as part of the Learning Center team is as follows:
$15.00/hour for Professional tutors (tutors who have a Bachelors degree or higher in the subject area or an affiliated subject area), $7.25/hour for Peer tutors
