Interior Decorating Certificate
Interested in a career in Interior Decorating or just want to explore your decorating interests? These courses will benefit everyone. A certificate will be granted at the end of the program to those students who successfully complete the entire track; Interior Designing Basics, Fabrics and Materials, Window Treatments, Color, Lighting, and Space Planning. Optional courses will be available. Courses not currently listed will be offered in the spring semester.
Interior Designing Basics
You will learn about the basics using design elements and fundamental principles of design and how these are incorporated in the interiors of a home. You will gain this knowledge in furniture placement, color, styles, and how to create the look you desire.

Window Treatments
Selecting the best style of window coverings will give you the privacy you desire to compliment the style you are creating. This course will cover blinds, shades and other hard treatments in addition to draperies. Details that you need to know to make the right choice. Prerequisite: Interior Designing Basics.

Fabrics and Materials
You will learn and understand how to select between various fabrics, flooring, laminates, wall coverings, and other materials used to finish the interior. You will learn to appreciate the uses of various materials used in both the home and office. Prerequisite: Interior Designing Basics.
