Library Services for Alumni

The Basileiad Library offers services to alumni of Manor College in accordance to its mission to provide an environment that encourages lifelong learning. Manor College alumni therefore have lifetime privileges to many Library services, such as:

Research Assistance

The Librarian and Library staff are available to answer any of your research or procedural questions. Research assistance is available during most hours that the Library is open and by appointment with the Librarian.

Off-Campus Access

Anyone may anonymously access the Library catalog (http://library.manor.edu:7195/webopac/main) from off-campus. Only current Manor students, staff and faculty, however, have off-campus access to our online subscription databases.

Borrowing and Loan Periods

A Manor ID card or a photo ID is required in order to check out books. Alumni borrowers may check out the following items: circulating books, children's books, and audio books. Alumni borrowers may have up to 10 items checked out at any time. The loan period for all items is 30 days. The following items must be used within the Library:

• CD-Roms
• Videos
• Reserve materials
• Reference books
• Journals
It is the borrower's responsibility to know the due date of the material checked out. Overdue materials accrue a fine of $.10 per day with a maximum of $20.00. No further items will be loaned until the fine has been paid. If items are not returned to the library, additional replacement costs and processing fees are also incurred. Alumni may have their borrowing privileges suspended if they abuse Library borrowing policies or accumulate excessive fines.

Renewals

Books may be renewed in person at the Library, or over the phone (215-885-2360 ext. 238). If there are any fines on a borrower’s record, no renewals will be allowed until the fines are paid. For questions regarding renewals, contact Maria Zin at the above number.

Code of Conduct

Manor College alumni are expected to behave courteously toward other users and Library staff, and to observe all College and Library rules and regulations. Those who choose to ignore these rules and regulations may be asked to leave the building and have their Library privileges suspended or revoked.
