Manor College recognizes Thomas Mallon for his years of community service. Tom is a man of integrity and has earned a reputation for superior personal, moral and professional performance standards.
Tom Mallon has long been a trusted advisor and friend to Manor College. His service to Manor began in the mid 1980’s when he joined the Board of Trustees. He served as a member and Treasurer on the Manor College Board of Trustees from 1985 to 1992. After leaving the Board, Tom continued to support and to advise then President Sister Miriam Claire and current Sister Cecilia. Manor College has grown in the 23 years since Tom Mallon first walked on our campus. His knowledge of financial management and his careful guidance was a reassuring influence to the Manor administration as the College progressed, expanded academic programs, increased enrollment and kept pace with the higher education community of the Greater Philadelphia area.
Philadelphia Protestant Home also benefited by Tom’s expertise. He proudly serves on the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Protestant Home and as Chair of the Fiscal Oversight Committee.
Tom Mallon was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Abington Memorial Hospital for 27 years. He was instrumental in guiding the hospital through its successful transformation into a vital and influential regional health care facility.
Now enjoying his retirement, Tom continues his 17 years of serve as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Sisters of Saint basil the Great; and a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee for the Kennedy Health System in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Tom is also a senior lector at St. Martin of Tours in New Hope.
Before joining Abington Memorial Hospital, Tom was the Chief Financial Officer at Underwood Memorial Hospital. Tom graduated in 1963 from LaSalle University with a degree in Accounting and was awarded his MBA in 1982 from the University of South Carolina.
