Types of Admissions - International Applicants

For students who hold, or will need to obtain, a non-immigrant visa

Each year, Manor welcomes international students who are interested in pursuing a college education that is fully accredited and will be recognized all over the world. Manor’s campus helps international students plan for their future through our excellent academic advising and career mentoring and with the help of our wonderful faculty and staff. Manor also has numerous student organizations and activities to become involved with on campus, from various honor societies and community service clubs to our men’s and women’s athletic teams. International students are able to offer a global perspective that enriches our entire Manor community, and we believe that this rich multi-national, multi-cultural environment benefits the entire campus. Manor College is authorized by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement division of the United States Department of Homeland Security to issue Certificates of Eligibility (I-20 Forms) for non-immigrant (F-1) student status to foreign students who meet the overall admissions requirements and are accepted to the college.

International Student Application Checklist

We must receive all of the materials outlined below from prospective international students in order for an application to be completed.

  1. Submit your online application for admission through the Manor College website, www.manor.edu/applynow. There is no application fee!
  2. Submit official academic records from any high school or post-secondary college or university attended. These records must be evaluated and include the English translations, if applicable. We require that these academic records be evaluated and translated through World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).
  3. Submit results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Manor College will accept the following TOEFL scores:
    • Paper-based test: 480
    • Computer-based test: 157
    • Internet-based test: 54
  4. Start your I-20 application. Acquiring approval for a non-immigrant visa can be difficult and time-consuming, and we encourage students to begin this process early!

All international students must submit proof of health insurance coverage as well as documentation of required vaccinations and immunizations, as outlined in the student medical form. Manor College is able to provide information regarding health insurance plans to students in need of coverage, if necessary. Manor has housing available on campus for international students during the semester, and off-campus housing can be arranged during semester breaks (i.e. Thanksgiving, Easter, and spring) for a fee. Housing is not available on campus, however, during winter and summer breaks. Manor also has a dining hall available on campus and a meal plan is included for students living in the dormitory. Additionally, Manor is also in close proximity to various restaurants and grocery stores as well as other venues for shopping and entertainment in the area. Finally, Manor’s campus is conveniently located just 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia and is also close to other major metropolitan areas, such as New York and Washington D.C.
