Accuplacer Placement Test Information

Once you have made the decision to attend Manor College, and as part of the admission process, you must take the English Composition, Reading, and Mathematics placement assessments before you can register for appropriate classes. Some students may be exempt from certain sections of the placement assessment. Please read below to see if you qualify.

The English Composition, Reading, and Mathematics placement assessments are offered at Manor College and the available dates are listed on the enclosed Placement Test Schedule. Please review the schedule linked below to determine a test date to register to take the placement tests.

Once you have selected a testing session you may schedule an appointment either by calling our Placement Test Registration Hotline at 215-885-2360 ext. 305 or by emailing the Placement Test Registration mailbox at placement@manor.edu.

When contacting the Testing Center by voice mail or email please provide the following information:
1. Clearly state and spell your full name.
2. Indicate the Manor program to which you have been accepted.
3. Provide the test session that you have chosen.
4. Provide your contact information such as a phone number and/or email address.

You will not receive confirmation of registration for the placement assessment. Once you sign up for your assessment date, you will be “officially” registered on the specified date and time. All English Composition, Reading, and Mathematics placement assessments are administered in the assigned testing location as listed on the enclosed Placement Test Schedule on your selected assessment date. Unless you are contacted by the Placement Test Site Manager with different instructions, please arrive at the testing site, on the appropriate date, fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start time of the test session.

On the day of the assessment, you will need to provide photo identification. This can be a government issued identification card or an official high school picture I.D. You must present an acceptable form of identification to the test proctor before you can begin. The test is computerized, but you should bring several pencils and scrap paper to do any preliminary work before submitting your answers on the computer. Do not bring a calculator. When appropriate, a computer pop-up calculator will be made available to you as part of the math test.

You will receive the results of your placement assessments upon completion. All placement testing must be completed prior to academic advising and the selection of classes. The time needed to complete the test varies with each individual. Please allow a minimum of three (3) hours to complete all tests. Subtests include Elementary Algebra, Arithmetic, Reading Comprehension, and Writing.

Test session size is limited, please call or email immediately to register early for your preferred test date!

A student may re-take each subtest only once. There is a $25.00 fee to retest for one or more of the four tests, payable in advance to Manor’s Bursar, who will provide a receipt to be presented to test proctor prior to retesting.
