Students who wish to pursue a career as a physical therapist may begin their studies at Manor’s Associate Degree program with a concentration in pre-physical therapy. Manor’s small class size, and strong science and liberal arts foundation will provide the student with the basis necessary for success. Students then transfer after two years to another college or university to complete their studies. A P.H.D. is recommended in order to enter the physical therapy profession. In addition, physical therapy graduates take a licensing exam.
Manor requires that each pre-physical therapy sophomore student in good standing participate
in an 80-hour observational externship at a physical therapy site.
Students must attain a grade of “C” or better in all science courses. Any student with a grade
of “D” or “F” in any one of these courses will be required to repeat the course. Students who have
a cumulative GPA< 2.0 for two successive semesters may be dismissed from the program.
