MANOR COLLEGE TERRORIST ATTACK – CRISIS EMERGENCY PROCEDURE

Revised August, 2007

TO ALL MANOR COLLEGE STUDENTS:

A comprehensive plan has been developed with the utmost concern for your safety and well-being in the event of a Terrorist Attack. It offers clear, step-by-step instructions as to how we will either
• Commence an orderly evacuation of the Manor College campus
or
• Follow our newly established “Shelter In Place” procedures

Each campus building possesses its own Emergency Provisions - well stocked with all items that have been deemed essential by government directives. These items will be used in conjunction with our “Shelter In Place” procedures.

WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO PREPARE AND CARRY A SMALL, PERSONAL EMERGENCY SUPPLY KIT AS WELL. YOUR KITS SHOULD CONTAIN BOTTLES OF WATER, SNACK ITEMS AND A SUPPLY OF ANY DAILY MAINTENANCE MEDICATIONS YOU MAY BE TAKING.

We will, however, continue to supply all persons on campus with bottled water in the event of a Crisis Emergency.

I ask for your complete cooperation, in the event that we need to initiate this policy. Please follow all directions given to you by your designated Building Captains. The Building Captains are the persons who are actually responsible for supervising both the evacuation of the campus and the “Shelter In Place” procedures. They will be wearing orange vests.

This plan was originally developed in March, 2003 using the latest available information posted on official government websites. Among these were the websites for: The White House; The Department of Homeland Security; The Federal Emergency Management Agency; The Federal Bureau of Investigations; and, The Centers for Disease Control.

The entire detailed procedure is available in the Student Life Office of Manor College.
