Addictions Counseling
Worried you might have a substance abuse or other addiction problem such as gambling, or eating disorders? Is someone in your life worried about you? Take our substance abuse/addictions self-screen and ask yourself some tough questions.
The abuse of alcohol and other drugs has increased dramatically among the college-age populations, creating serious problems including addiction, poor academic performance, school drop-out and an increase in incidents of violence, vandalism, acquaintance rape, injury and even death.
The Counseling Center provides education about and limited treatment and referrals for problems with alcohol and other drugs, eating disorders, gambling, co-dependency, and other addiction problems. The Drug-Free Campus Manual, kept in the Counseling Center, is available for the use of the Manor community. The notebook contains information about alcohol and other drugs, their effects on the body and mind, resources for treatment, information about 12-step groups in the area, and state and federal laws and penalties related to underage use and abuse. For information about the Manor College Drug and Alcohol Policy, refer to the Manor College Student Handbook.
